Adding to the various titles conquered with the national team, is another more symbolic one: she is the first synchronette from Bologna to take part in the Olympics. She discovered synchronized swimming by chance when, as a little girl, she tried it in a pool with her friend Beatrice. She grew up listening to the sports stories told to her by her father Sergio, formerly the doctor for the Fortitudo Bologna top league basketball team. Now, thanks to the 30 year old synchronette’s passion for literature and writing (cultivated together with film and theatre), she will be able to narrate her experience in the Olympic competition. A keen surfer (her second sport after synchronized swimming), in Rio she will be dancing on the waters of the Maria Lenk Aquatic Centre.
