After numerous international placings, close to the podium, she finally managed to put a medal around her neck (silver to be precise) at the Military World Championships in 2015 staged in Mungyeong (Korea), in the 1500m event. Before choosing athletics, she had practiced volleyball, until track running finally won her heart in 2003. Besides taking part in the 1500m race in Rio, she will also be running in the 3000m, in which she is the holder of the third best Italian time ever, and in the 1,000m, in which she set a new indoor Italian record in 2014. After graduating from school, she obtained an honours degree in Law from Bologna University.
