She was born in southwest Nigeria but joined her mother in Fidenza at Christmas in 2004. Despite the concern of her mother that she would be distracted from her studies, she was convinced to take up athletics while attending middle school and achieved early success, which resulted in her joining the national teams (although she was unable to compete in the Under-18 World Cup because she still did not have an Italian passport). Besides being a devout Pentecostal Christian, she dreams of becoming a paediatric surgeon; hence she has enrolled in the Faculty of Medicine, thus managing to balance her academic and sport commitments.
