After his experience in Beijing, he is coming back to another Olympic Games event as one of the veterans of Italian athletics. He started practising the hammer throw when he was 15 years old, becoming passionate about this speciality after a tournament followed on the TV, entering thereafter in the Fiamme Gialle sports club in 1999. In his record of honours, he can sport a silver medal won at the Army World championships in Sofia in 2009, in addition to the above-mentioned Olympic participation in 2008, which ended with three void throws during the qualification, despite a positive season in which he had improved his personal record several times. In the past he has also been the Italian weightlifting champion (+105 Kg category), together with having become quite popular with the TV program “Otto Millimetri”, on air on Italia 1 TV channel from 1997 to 2000.
