Specialising in middle-distance running, he went back to training with Gianni Benedetti, the same coach that followed him when he was part of Atletica Trento in 2012. The results have been immediately positive, managing to set his personal record on the 3000 metres steeplechase at the Golden Gala, managing to gain sixth position at the Helsinki European Championships and to make his dream of running the final at the London Olympic Games come true, ending up 13th. Married and father of two, he loves spending his free time listening to music or reading a good book.
