He entered the circuit of the over-18 National Team relatively late, after establishing a name for himself at the 2008 European Junior Games, as his début only took place in 2012 at the Debrecen European Championships, but he immediately reached the 200m freestyle final, to much general surprise. Then, in the same edition, he also managed to stand on the European podium for the first time, wearing the silver medal, the fruit of the efforts of the Italian 4x200 relay team. To this day, he has managed to accumulate further experience in the international arena, such as the three gold medals in the Mediterranean Games (first place with three different relays) and taking part in the Olympic Games in London.
