The first and decisive contact with the world of athletics occurred when he was 14 years old, at the time of the Youth Sport Games. Indeed, after this experience, he decided to stop training as a football player and concentrate on this new discipline, which became his main activity following his entry in the Fiamme Gialle sports club. His speciality is the flat 800m race, a distance for which he won a gold and a bronze at the team European Championships. After having left home to train in Turin, he went back to Sorni, a village with 250 inhabitants in the province of Trento, to stay in a more familiar environment under the guide of the coach that discovered him in his youth.
