For Silvia, boating is familiar territory, since being in her first race (His and Hers in Venice) at six years old, together with her father, and winning the award for the youngest couple and for first prize in her class. Within that short time, she went on to win the Italian title in the Optimist, in 2012 she was awarded World Champion of the European class and took her first steps towards the Laser Radial Olympic boat. In 2014, thanks to coming in at 17th place at the ISAF Sailing World Championship in Santander, Italy qualified for Rio 2016, and is now ready for tests for its first Olympics. To pass these tests, she is also committed to working hard on land, given that she is enrolled with a University Pharmaceutical Faculty. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, reading books and baking. The cake to celebrate a good Olympic result, however, will have to be prepared beforehand.
