Since a small child, she has sought out challenges to test her courage and temperament. After having tried tennis because it gave her the chance to face an opponent, she realised that golf offered her an even greater challenge, i.e. against herself. In 1996, she made a name for herself in the International Ladies Amateur Championship, one of the most prestige tournaments on the amateur circuit and, once she had turned professional, she received the prize "Rookie of the year" 2000, as the best newcomer. Very active away from the greens, she is the testimonial for the "Pink is Good" project promoted by the Umberto Veronesi Foundation and she launched the “Little Sister Project" promoting the transition from amateur to professional status of young golfers.
