Biography
At London 2012 she was the youngest in the fencing team; in Rio 2016 instead she arrives as the current world champion. She is indeed the third sabre fencer in the world and the first Italian to have won two consecutive world titles. The 24 year old from Catania, currently also European vice champion, started fencing when seven years old. Meticulous and methodical in preparing her matches, she has a notebook in which she writes the strong points and week spots of her opponents. On the platform her nickname is “Hyena”, outside instead, she could have been a professional pianist (she has a diploma in piano at the conservatory) and she studies Nutrition. In Brazil, however, she is ready to use all her keys and leave her opponents with nothing.
