Biography
Not belonging to any sporting group and not part of the national team in the last Olympic cycle, he was the symbol of the Italian rowing team in 2015, the result of hard work and drive. The 30-year-old Neapolitan, in fact, was the third member of the Italian quartet that, in Aiguebelette, France, made history by winning the coxless four world title, 20 years after the last Italian success. A victory he dedicated to his family, led by his father Nino, his biggest fan and former Italian rower, and his grandfather Carlo Rolandi who has participated in five Olympic Games, but in sailing (of which he was president of the federation and is currently honorary president). At the end of 2016, he may decide to give up, but in Rio, at his first Olympics, he is going to give body and soul in order to make his "blue" family happy.
