A fellow citizen of Marco Belinelli who, like herself, was born in San Giovanni in Persiceto and lived nearby, Aleksandra started swimming as a little girl, to correct the posture of her feet, but then chose water polo because she thought it was more fun. She was forced to skip the World Championships in Kazan when she broke the anterior cruciate ligament of her right knee but after the operation, rehabilitation therapy and a new debut in the championship, she has returned to the national team with which she has played in the most important tournaments.
