Rio 2016 Olympic Games archery team revealed that Italy will take part in the Olympic Games with the maximum number of athletes available, six, after both male teams qualified, thanks to the silver medal won at the World Championships in Copenhagen, as well as the female team, that managed to gain its pass in the last pre-Olympic tournament held in Antalya in mid-June.
Amongst the men, the Italian colours will be defended by Marco Galiazzo, Olympic Gold medallist at Athens 2004 and London 2012 (in the team competition), Mauro Nespoli, team gold in London 2012, and newcomer David Pasqualucci. As for female archery, Italy will be represented by Guendalina Sartori, Claudia Mandia and Lucilla Boari. Archery is scheduled at the Olympic Games from 5 to 12 August.
The Italian athletes who are certain to participate in Rio 2016 have gone up to 271 (142 men, 129 women) in 27 different disciplines, with 178 individual passes.
