She loves beach volleyball but in Rio, rather than on Copacabana's sandy beach, she will be competing on the Carioca Arena piste. She was selected to train in fencing while still at primary school and she has since continued practicing this sport that, thanks to her passion and perseverance, has brought her to the Olympic training centre in Rome. Today, at the age of 31, the young woman from Castelvetrano, lives her Olympic dream with the national sabre fencing team. She has a degree in Political Studies and International Relations, but in Brazil she won’t be negotiating with her opponents. The Italian team is looking to bring home some medals.
