On closing the National Championships in Turin, the final test in women’s Artistic gymnastics, the Italian Gymnastics Federation has put together the list of gymnasts who will be part of the CONI (Italian National Olympic Committee) mission at the next Olympic Games.

As well as Ludovico EDALLI in the men’s Artistic gymnastics and Veronica BERTOLINI in the Rhythmic gymnastics, who, last April, each made it through to the Rio de Janeiro Test Event. The Federal President, Riccardo Agabio, of his own accord, summoned the members of the two teams:
The Italian women’s Artistic gymnastics, who made it through, on the 24th October 2015, to the World Championships in Glasgow will be made up of the 2006 world champion, Vanessa FERRARI, her third consecutive Olympic participation, by Erika FASANA and Carlotta FERLITO, both present as the leaders in London 2012, along with Ferrari herself, finishing in 7th place – and the newcomers Martina RIZZELLI and Elisa MENEGHINI. The team will be headed by Technical Director Enrico Casella.

In Rhythmic gymnastics, the team will be composed of the bronze medal winner at the London Games, the captain Marta PAGNINI, and others including Alessia MAURELLI, Camilla PATRIARCA and Martina CENTOFANTI, all newcomers, just like Sofia LODI, reigning world champion with 5 ribbons. Together, the blues obtained five national posts on the 12th September at the Stuttgart World Cup.
