Biography

The Olympic trap is his home. And, whereas opponents pass and team mates change, he, at 46, remains and continues to win. He has done it since he was just eighteen and with the complicity of the mother who practised this sport, he approached the shooting world. In his CV he boasts three individual Olympic medals, 10 world titles and 12 European ones, and many placings, including an Italian title of Junior Champion of ballroom dancing. But the 'Johnny' of Vercelli manages to be in the centre even among the most needy ones, thanks to the "Team Shooting JP" solidarity group. From a meeting at the Vatican with Pope John Paul II in 2000 his faith blossomed. From Barcelona '92, however, his Olympic gold is pursued. In Rio, then, in his seventh Olympics, he still wants a starring role. At the bottom he is the master Rambo (Stallone), Terminator (Schwarzenegger) and other Hollywood celebrities.
