Biography
With his characteristic "hunger", he is on the hunt for his third Olympic medal, having captured bronze in Athens in the coxless four and silver in Beijing in the quadruple sculls. The rower from Livorno, whose hobbies include computers and adventure books, began his long career in 1997 claiming one success after another, starting with the first World Championship medal won in 2001 (silver in Lucerne as part of the coxless four). Waiting for him to return home from Brazil will be his wife Anna and the little ones Achille, Aronne and Atena, hoping that this time the Games will reward him with the most precious metal of all.
