He started playing volleyball because all his friends were and, after having played through all the ranks, unlike the others, he made it to the national team. The thirty-one-year old, from Ugento (Lecce), was one of the surprises of 2015, becoming Italvolley's libero. Now he is ready to give his all in Brazil. As a matter of fact, he never gives up, and that is probably why he is nicknamed the 'Lion'. He achieved a diploma from the Scientific High School and is married to Marisa: he loves evenings with friends and nights spent fishing. At the Games, however, he is hunting for an Olympic medal.
