A relationship lasting over 20 years, his coaching partnership with Coach Massimo Sartori took him under his wing when Andreas was just 11 years old. A relationship that is merged with excellent results on the court, making the man from Bolzano the first Italian tennis player to win a tournament on grass and, later, the first to establish himself on all three surfaces in ATP tournaments. As a good South Tyrolean, he loves skiing, but also follows football, especially AC Milan. At the Olympic Games, he walked the same path twice, failing to get passed the second round in doubles. In Rio, therefore, he hopes to redeem himself.
