Her parents, both originally from Ghana, met in Naples in 1985, but she was born seven years later in the province of Verona. She made her debut in the National team at the European championships Helsinki, in 2012 and in the 200 meter relay race she recorded a 22.95 time, achieving the fourth best Italian performance ever which enabled her to take part in the 2012 London Games. From the end of 2014, the 24-year-old moved to the USA to be trained by Loren Seagrave, temporarily putting on hold her academic studies and her dreams of becoming a biotechnology researcher, to pursue her passion to run like the wind in Rio.
